Hans and franz snl girly man9/8/2023 ![]() Loved Dennis’ David Duke/Deliverance joke. George Michael (DAC) shows off his butt & talks about its powers Good part with Hans and Franz each sloppily kissing the camera lens, fogging it up.ĭEM lists prices the Ayatollah has put on other people’s headsĪWB thinks we have enough to worry about with fundamentalism in the USAĭEM sings Cat Stevens’ hit song “I’m Being Followed By A Big Muslim” Amusing little touch with Phil sneaking in another look at the “date” before leaving. Hans and Franz altering their usual Hans and Franz-isms to sound romantic is pretty funny. Phil’s Helmut is always funny to see, though this time, he’s not wearing the usual see-through shirt that exposes his humorous flabbiness. I love Hans and Franz clinking their wine glasses in unison in place of their usual simultaneous clap. Good change of pace, with this focusing on a “Fantasy Dinner Date” tape where we get a first-person camera perspective. I love Kevin’s nonchalant attitude towards Glenn’s disturbing lines.Ĭlip of the duo’s Fantasy Dinner Date video I really liked the reactions to Glenn’s “I boiled the rabbit” line coming out of nowhere. Great use of Glenn’s Fatal Attraction character. I think the other group therapy members are also the same. Dana is playing the same hilarious character he played in another group therapy sketch from two seasons earlier. ![]() Kevin: “I think that’s what we call a warm fuzzy.” Another funny line from Hurt, regarding how he places Glenn in a top 5 list of actresses… in her age group.įellow support group members lend encouragement & advice to Alex (host) Glenn’s facial reactions are also very good. I’m getting some good laughs from Hurt’s rundown of negative things about Glenn, delivered in a backhanded way. Funny idea with a humble Glenn bringing out William Hurt to talk about her for her. William Hurt gives host a number of backhanded compliments The typical over-dramatic war cliches are very amusing in this setting. ![]() I’m absolutely loving the concept of this, and it’s being very well-performed. A good laugh from the “Cash or charge?” bit with Jan as the book returner. ![]() Special interest groups in favor of censorship besiege a bookstore Dieter, however, was never made.Segments are rated on a scale of 1-5 stars The film’s producers, Universal Studios and Imagine Entertainment, sued Myers for breach of contract, a matter that was resolved with Myers agreeing to star in 2003’s The Cat in the Hat. But just as production began, Myers cancelled the film because he didn’t like the script (the one he co-wrote). The script was written by Meyers and “Deep Thoughts” scribe Jack Handey, and followed Dieter as he traveled across the U.S. The surprise success of SNL alum Mike Myers’ Austin Powers in 1997 allowed him to make a movie based on a very weird character he’d developed on TV: Dieter, the artsy, all-black-wearing German who hosted a talk show called Sprockets (along with his pet monkey, Klaus). NBC forced SNL to focus on the show, and cut out the movies. It was set to be made in 1995, until SNL was nearly cancelled after the show’s ratings sank and other SNL movies tanked in theaters. In it, a businessman (to be played by Martin Short) buys the Chicago Bears’ Soldier Field and turns it into a luxury stadium for the rich, shutting out the team’s working-class fans, like the Superfans. SNL writer Robert Smigel played one of the group (along with Chris Farley, Mike Myers, and guest host George Wendt) and wrote a bizarre screenplay based on the sketch. ![]() The “Superfans” are perhaps better known as “Da Bears guys,” a bunch of beer-swilling Chicago sports fans with Chicago accents. The movie fell apart when Last Action Hero, a similarly fourth-wall-busting movie starring Schwarzenegger as himself, bombed at the box office. Oh, and Schwarzenegger was supposed to co-star as himself. One of the show’s most popular recurring bits in the late 1980s was “Hans and Franz,” the Eastern European bodybuilders portrayed by Dana Carvey and Kevin Nealon who wanted to “pump you up.” In 1993, production was underway for a movie about Hans and Franz traveling to Hollywood to be movie stars like their idol, bodybuilder turned movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger. For every Wayne’s World, there was another movie based on a Saturday Night Live sketch that never got made at all. ![]()
